Where must the OPC UA server license be installed?
The OPC UA server license is typically associated with and installed on the industrial machine's controller or the specific software application that functions as the OPC UA server. This server is part of your machine's or system's operational technology (OT) infrastructure, enabling it to communicate using the OPC UA protocol.
Our Things OS solution and the Hilscher Compact Edge Gateway connect to your existing OPC UA-enabled machines. We utilize the data provided by your installed OPC UA server; however, the licensing, installation, and management of the OPC UA server itself are the responsibility of the machine's manufacturer or the party that implemented the OPC UA server on your system.
TomorrowThings does not provide or manage the licenses for the OPC UA servers on your machines. Our platform is designed to seamlessly integrate with and extract data from these pre-existing OPC UA server installations.
